Grinding — refers to the abrasive process of smoothing.

Soldering — the process of permanently joining two or more pieces of metal together.

Whitening — is a surface-treatment process to clean the metal after being soldered.

Hallmarking — the official process of stamping or laser-engraving precious metal objects to certify their purity and authenticity.

Brushing — a cleaning process.

Degreasing — the process of removing oils, greases, dirt, and residual polishing compounds.
