Chi siamo
Gennaro Borriello was born in Torre del Greco in 1936. He spent his childhood during the most difficult period of the last century's history: World War II. Although his family was wealthy—his grandfather Gennaro was a renowned shipowner—he spent his early years in poverty. Initially, his passion for beauty led him to pursue a particular branch of local craftsmanship: hand engraving on shell cameos, a prestigious art practiced in his native Torre del Greco since 1850. By the age of thirteen, he had managed to create his own cameo. Yet, he had a dream: to retrace his roots and become an entrepreneur. He gathered his work experiences and in 1958, he fulfilled his dream, becoming a craft entrepreneur. In 1979, with his wife Marianna Belardo, a skilled coral artisan, he founded Ge.Ma S.r.l., which in 1984 became Gennaro Borriello S.r.l. The true secret of the company's success lies precisely in that partnership of active and creative experiences. Currently, Gennaro Borriello s.r.l. is one of the leading companies in its sector. Since 1950, the Borriello family has indeed embarked on a unique and exclusive path of beauty and excellence. Alessandra continues the precious family legacy, and JaBo cameos was born from the need to enter the world of the internet and social media with the same historic family dedication.
